Clinical training gets personal … The clinician-focused approach The Clinical Training curriculum centres on three overarching themes:
(1) Clinical treatment models (2) Couple and family therapy (3) Specific clinical topics
1. Clinical Treatment Models
Today’s clinical practice is complex. We selected treatment models in consideration of the clinician’s day-to-day practice needs. We offer training in a variety of models that are evidence-based and are helpful in addressing a wide range of issues presented by client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. These approaches provide the clinician with different therapeutic means, whether emotional and experiential or cognitive and behavioural, in approaching clients’ issues. They also offer different mediums of delivering therapeutic interventions, including the use of art.
We offer training in: - Art Therapy
- Being an Effective Group Facilitator – Yalom Group Psychotherapy
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
- Process Experiential – Emotion Focused Therapy
- Social Skills Training – SSLD Model
2. Couple and Family Therapy
Couple and Family Therapy offers not only a specific therapeutic means to address family and couple relational issues, but also a unique, systemic perspective to understanding human behaviour in a relationship context. Considering the complexity of family relationships, we offer an Advanced Family Therapy Training certificate program designed in keeping with the AAMFT guidelines for clinical membership in couple and family therapy.
We offer training in: - Essential Skills in Family Therapy
- Advanced Systemic Family Therapy
- Structural Family Therapy
- Essential Skills in Couple Therapy

3. Specific Clinical Topics We offer a variety of one-day workshops concerning relevant clinical topics such as depression, anxiety and attention deficit disorder (ADHD). We will post further details soon.
