Promoting Access and Growth: Special rates and bursaries OPTI offers special workshop rates to support the clinical growth of graduate students, medical students/residents, practitioners in supervised practice, and early career practitioners who are engaged in clinical practice within 5 years of graduation from their most advanced degree. Clinical growth requires additional training beyond formal academic programs. For emerging and new practitioners, there may be barriers to accessing post-degree training due to the costs associated with participating in workshops and seminars. To promote access to clinical training and the growth of practitioners, we offer a reduced rate (50%) for graduate students/medical students/residents and a reduced rate (25%) for practitioners in supervised practice and early career practitioners.
Bursaries
In recognition of individuals who do not have the means to participate in post-graduate clinical training, we have established a bursary program that provides financial support to participate in our workshops. You must be in a graduate student in a mental health related program or a practitioner with a graduate degree in a mental health related discipline. In order to be considered, you must submit a letter of application (2 page max.) that addresses the following questions:
- Why are you interested in attending the workshop?
- What are your learning goals for the workshop?
- What are your reasons for seeking a bursary?
- What is your overall professional goal?
The deadline for submission is two months prior to the workshop date. If you are selected as the recipient of a bursary, you will be asked to pay an administrative fee of $50.00. Please submit your letter of application (including your contact information) to:
